There are moments that remind us exactly why we do what we do, and Saturday night was one of them. NYMT member Rafferty Coope took to the Britain's Got Talent stage for the grand final, and we could not be prouder to have been part of it.
The seventeen-year-old musical magician has captivated the country across this year's series, blending sleight of hand with live music in a way that feels entirely his own. For the final, his routine was built around a simple and generous idea: spreading positivity and encouraging everyone watching to smile. The judges spoke of his infectious joy, and anyone who has worked with Rafferty will recognise that warmth at once.
We were thrilled to share the stage with him. The choir and orchestra accompanying Rafferty in the final were drawn from NYMT's 2026 Company, performing an arrangement from Coldplay's Fix You under the musical direction of David Randall. Seeing our young performers and musicians supporting one of their own on a stage of that scale was a genuine highlight.
Rafferty is no stranger to the NYMT family. He performed with us in Catastrophe Bay at Southwark Playhouse in 2024 and in Tuck Everlasting at Birmingham Hippodrome in 2025, and it has been a joy to watch his talent grow with every production.

Reaching a Britain's Got Talent final is a remarkable achievement, and doing it with such generosity of spirit is better still. Congratulations Rafferty, from all of us at NYMT. We could not be prouder, and we cannot wait to see what you do next.
