If you want to work with a professional Musical Director in one of our pit bands, then NYMT is the place for you. 

Many of the opportunities we offer musicians are available only by coming to one of our Audition Workshop days. Find out more below.

Audition Workshop

Our musicians' audition workshops take place in January and February each year, and take the form of a morning workshop. You will take part in a group ensemble music session, followed by an opportunity to play your own piece(s) individually (up to 10 minutes). At the end of the session is a Q&A with the Musical Director.
 
Once you sign up to an audition workshop, we'll send you all the information you need to prepare. After the audition workshop, you may be invited to join one of our productions. 
 
This workshop has a fee of £25 and offers a half day of work with our industry professionals.

These are our residential productions and workshops in 2026.

These opportunites will be open to young actors, instrumental musicians and young creative and production assistants. To take any role in one of our productions, you'll need to attend an audition or interview.

FEES

NYMT fees vary from course to course, project to project. We're a charity (non-profit) and we work hard to keep fees as low as we can while maintaining the high quality of what we do.

We never want finances to be a barrier. We provide our Young Company Members with a fundraising guide and we offer various bursaries at a range of levels.
