If you’re an actor, singer or a dancer – or all three – these opportunities are for you.
Some of the opportunities below are available only by coming to one of our Audition Workshop days, while others you can book directly.
We add new opportunities regularly, so keep checking throughout the year.
Audition Workshop Days
Our audition workshop days are split into three sessions: acting, singing and dance. Acting and dance are group sessions, and there’s no need to prepare anything for them. Singing is a short solo performance of a song you like performing.
Once you sign up to an audition workshop day, we'll send you all the information you need to prepare. After the audition you will be invited to join a course or to come to a casting workshop.
This workshop has a fee of £45 and offers a full day of working with our team of industry professionals.

After Auditions
Following your audition workshop day, we’ll invite you back for whatever we think is best for you at your stage of training. This might be to a follow-up casting workshop or one of our skills courses.
If you are invited to a casting workshop, you will be asked to prepare specific material for one or two of our projects, from either our productions or our new musical workshops. If we tell you that we'd like to see you for a possible role in one of our new musical workshops, this means that we'll consider you for any one of our new musical workshops, except of course any that take place on dates that you've told us you're unavailable.
Our casting workshops take place this year from Saturday 15 February to Tuesday 18 February. Each casting workshop lasts half a day, and there is no additional charge for attending.
OUR RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS IN 2025
These are our residential productions and workshops in 2025, which are open to young actors, instrumental musicians and members of our Creative & Production Pathway.

We offer our renowned Skills courses throughout the year, which are an opportunity for young actors to work intensively with our outstanding creatives in the three disciplines of acting, singing and dance.
Our Skills courses are available as residential and non-residential courses. Many are available only to those who come to our audition workshop days in January and February each year.
We also have some courses available for public booking at other times of the year: we'll be announcing new courses for 2025 soon.
What happens on a Skills course?
Each Skills course is slightly different, because we tailor them to the young people taking part. But all our courses will have sessions across all three disciplines: in acting, singing and dance.
There will the opportunity to develop confidence and skills in individual performance, as well as in group performances and routines. There'll be the opportunity to focus on specific areas that you feel less comfortable in, and to work on things like audition technique.
All our courses are run by industry professionals, giving you the opportunity to work directly with experts who are currently 'in the business', and to seek advice about your future career.
Our non-residential courses are generally run from mid-morning until early evening, while our residential courses are fully immersive experiences, with sessions throughout the day, and the opportunity to relax and make new friends with others who share your love of music theatre.
FEES
NYMT fees vary from course to course, project to project. We work hard to maintain fees at affordable levels. We never want finances to be a barrier. We provide our Young Company Members with a fundraising guide and we offer various bursaries at a range of levels. Payment plans are also available for most projects.
