Designed especially for young people who are interested in writing for the stage
Our young writers courses are open to those aged 16–23. Participants will work alongside book writers, composers and lyricists from the industry to learn about the form of musical theatre including story and narrative, crafting songs, shaping character and how all the elements can combine to tell a compelling story.
These courses are designed to be an introduction to the world of writing, and no experience is needed. However, for those who are serious about writing musicals, the course will also touch on how to pitch your idea and approach directors and producers.
Course leaders are all working in the field of new musicals so can also offer practical advice and guidance.
