No production can operate without a skilled backstage team!
There are a whole range of different opportunities for those looking for a role out of the spotlight.
The Production roles offer a two week experience on an NYMT production or New Musical Workshop. You'll see the project through from beginning to end and work alongside leading Theatre Professionals giving you the opportunity to develop your skills and learn about an exciting career path.
Roles
Interview Process
Sign up to be considered for a role and get access to a vibrant online community, where we offer skill building sessions, group mentorship and the chance to observe a production process. Once we receive your application, you’ll receive a Zoom link and an invite to participate in as much as you can.
After this you will be able to apply and interview for one of the roles listed above. You will then have an interview either online or in person with our Head of Production and a industry professional.
After this you will be allocated to a project or invited to join the Technical Course.

This includes:
One week full board and accommodation, and a second week of bed & breakfast accommodation

One week in a professional theatre environment as part of a fully staged production
A dedicated team providing outstanding pastoral care throughout the project
Technical Courses
Fees for our courses are set on a course-by-course basis, but are generally:
5-day non-residential course: £545
If you have attended an interview with us before your course in the same year, you will be eligible for the refund of your interview fee – usually £25.
Bursaries
NYMT is committed to ensuring that as many young people are able to have the NYMT Experience and therefore offer bursaries for all of our projects. The Bursary pack will be sent out with the pack when you are offered a place on the project.
