Creative Course August 2025 – ArtsEd, London
You will work alongside a professional Director, Choreographer and Musical Director to discover the process of bringing a musical from page to stage. You will begin by learning how the director approaches and analyses the script. You will then take part in workshops led by a Choreographer and Musical Director to understand how the initial ideas can then develop during rehearsals. In small, collaborative groups, you will create your own theoretical production. With input from a professional Theatre Designer, and working alongside a team of actors, you will bring your vision to life.
Book courseApplication Process
We invite applications between October and December. Your £25 application fee provides open access to a vibrant online community, where we offer skill building sessions, group mentorship and the chance to observe a production process. Once we receive your application, you’ll receive a Zoom link and an invite to participate in as much as you can!
Skill Building Sessions
Our online two-session “Skill Building” series offers a deep dive into essential skills, where you will evaluate and articulate your unique strengths, craft a compelling CV, learn the art of effective, engaging presentations and how to write persuasive cover letters.
Applications and Recruitment
In parallel, we’ll provide detailed job descriptions for various assistant roles in the 2025 season. You’ll be invited to submit applications for roles within the season that interest you.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to our Casting Weekend, where you’ll meet with the industry creatives who are leading on the productions. Offers for positions will follow shortly afterwards which could include being invited to our Creatives course.
Ongoing Mentorship
For those attached to productions and workshops, online Group Mentorship sessions will offer continued support and development before and after key phases of activity.
